Return a the first three digits of a numeric value.

Syntax

FD(num_input, positive_negative, absolute)

num_input Numeric expression of which the first three digits will be returned by the function.
positive_negative Optional. A value of 0, 1, or 2. Decides whether only positive numbers (0), only negative numbers (1) or both (2) will be considered by the function. Default is 2 if omitted.
absolute Optional. A Boolean value of either TRUE or FALSE. This decides whether the sign of the original number will be included in the answer output or ignored. Default is FALSE if omitted.

Remark

Example

F3D(1234) returns 123
F3D(-1234, 0) returns “” (nothing, blank)
F3D(-1234, 1, FALSE) returns -123
