ACOTAN

Returns the inverse cotangent of the given angle.

Syntax

ACOTAN(Angle)

Angle is the angle in radians for which you want the inverse cotangent.

Remark

The mathematical definition of inverse cotangent is :

Let Atn(x) be inverse tangent of angle x in radians.
Acotan(x) = Atn(x) + 2 * Atn(1)

If the angle is in degrees, multiply it by PI()/180 or use the RADIANS function to convert it to radians.

Example

Formula
Description
=ACOTAN(1.047)
Inverse cotangent of 1.047 radians
=ACOTAN(60*PI()/180)
Inverse cotangent of 60 degrees (0.5)
=ACOTAN(RADIANS(60))
Inverse cotangent of 60 degrees (0.5)
