The current version of Excel Power Expander delivers the following range selection tools to facilitate the easy and flexible selection of ranges, and collection of range content info:
Function name Description 1. All Sheets A1 Select For all worksheets in the active workbook, select cell A1.
(This is especially useful when the user have browsed through multiple worksheets in the workbook and changed the selected area in various worksheets. This function “restores” the current selection of all worksheets to cell A1. )
2. Select Alternate Columns A utility with a form screen for flexible selection of alternate columns in a range. 3. Select Alternate Rows A utility with a form screen for flexible selection of alternate
rows in a range.
4. Select Current Region Expand the selection to include all the cells in the current data area. 5. Select Used Area Select the (real) used cells in the current selection area or in the current worksheet. 6. Selection Info... Through a dialog box, reports detailed range information on the current selection area(s). For example, info on constant range and formula range. You may also call EPE’s “Word Count” function from this dialog box. (refer to Word Count function) 7. Contract Selection Contract the current selection region, by 1 cell on each side of the selection. 8. Expand Selection Expands the current selection region outward, by 1 cell on each side of the selection.
Suppose you have data typed in a range. Instead of selecting the whole range, you just want to have alternate rows selected. (For example, rows 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, …)
With the whole table selected, from the “Expander” menu, choose “Range Selection Tools”, then choose “Select Alternate Rows”. Complete the form as shown below. Then click OK.
